Carlisle to Lead Chappapeela Park in Developing New Sports and Community Partnerships


(MENAFN- Newswire.com LLC) HAMMOND, La., March 22, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Now in his second month as Chairman of the Board for Chappapeela Sports Park, Rob Carlisle is bringing new energy to the facility. Executive Director Ryan Barker is excited to open a new chapter at the park, one that will see new activities as well as participation.

Carlisle brings a wealth of experience in community nonprofit organizations and partnership development. In the coming months, Barker will work alongside Carlisle in strategic planning to build more relationships between Chappapeela Sports Park and the community.

'Our outgoing chairman Jason Hood was responsible for developing the original Board of Directors and helped get the park started,' said Barker. 'We are now looking forward to new energy that will help develop programming and build strong partnerships.'

Chappapeela Park has recently welcomed lacrosse as an available recreational activity, and leadership is now organizing for tackle football, wrestling, powerlifting and even disc golf.

'These sporting activities not only have a good local following, they also will bring many people to our area,' Barker says. 'This will help increase tourism activities as well as bring money to local businesses.'

Barker says Carlisle is the perfect chairman to keep the park moving forward. 'His experience working with children and the deep trust our community already has in his leadership capability will do a lot for Chappapeela Sports Park,' he said. 'We're looking forward to great things ahead.'
