Over 14 million tourists visit Ukraine in 2018


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) In 2018, 14.2 million tourists visited Ukraine, according to the Economic Development and Trade Ministry.

"In 2018, our country was visited by 14.2 million foreign nationals, but we seek to increase this figure to about 30 million tourists annually. This can be reached through the development of tourism opportunities of the capital and regions," the ministry wrote on its Facebook page.

The ministry also noted that UAH 17 million was allocated for the development of tourism in Ukraine in 2019.

"In 2019, we plan to represent our country as an interesting tourist destination at important international exhibitions in London, Singapore, Barcelona and Shanghai," the ministry wrote.

As Ukrinform reported, the State Border Guard Service recorded an increase in the number of tourists from non-border countries, in particular Europe: Spain - 68%, Great Britain - 47.3%, Lithuania - 23.4%, Italy 15.4%, Germany 13, 3%, France - 9.2%, as well as India - 57.4%, China - 38.8%, Japan - 38.3%, Israel - 21.7% and the United States - 19%.
