(MENAFN- Asia Times) Authorities in Vietnam have deported six Chinese nationals who entered the country illegally and did not have proper documentation.
The six Chinese, two men and four women, were caught by immigration and police officers at the Huu Nghi border gate in Lang Son province on March 20, the VN Express reported. They were arrested after not being able to show valid documentation.
They claimed they entered Vietnam and were heading to Cambodia to find employment there. Authorities sent them back to China on the same day.
Cases of Chinese nationals entering Vietnam illegally have been on a steady climb. In 2018, seven Chinese nationals were arrested after they were caught crossing the border gate in Quang Ninh Province illegally. They admitted they were entering the country to see Ha Long Bay, a popular tourist destination that is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
