(MENAFN- The Conversation) Gavan Cooke , ARU, presents his citizen science project that needs your help! The project gathers observations of cuttlefish, squid and of course octopuses. His talk provides a background to the natural history of cephalopods, including fossils and paleoart reconstructions of extinct cephalopods whilst explaining the physiology and behaviour of those still found in UK waters. He describes his citizen project and some of the amazing findings from observations provided by the public.
The observations provided by the citizens have value other than providing useful scientific data. Many of the images are beautiful in their own right. Gavan will present examples of some of the outstanding images provided through his gallery of cephalopod posters.
And you will have the opportunity to see and touch exquisite fossils that are 100's of millions of years old and to use ID guides to learn more about cephalopods in our waters.
Presented as part of Cambridge Science Festival .
