UAE Foreign minister, Chilean counterpart discuss regional and international developments

SANTIAGO, Chile, 21st March, 2019 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has met with Roberto Ampuero, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chile, to discuss ways to further develop ties between the two countries.

The meeting, which was held as part of Sheikh Abdullah's visit to Chile, touched on means to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries in all fields.

They also exchanged views on the latest developments in the region and reviewed a number of regional and international issues of common concern.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the UAE is keen to strengthen bilateral relations with Chile and develop joint cooperation to benefit the peoples of the two friendly countries.

He also thanked the Chilean government for confirming its participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, pointing out that this participation will further enhance relations between the two friendly countries.

For his part, the Chilean Foreign Minister welcomed the visit of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, stressing the importance of this visit in developing areas of joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields. He also commended the UAE's leading stature at the regional and international levels.

The meeting was attended by Abdul Razzaq Mohamed Hadi, UAE Ambassador to Chile.
