(MENAFN) Turkey opened its trading benchmark stock index session on Thursday with a 0.51 percent or 525.83 points surge.
Starting the day at 103,836.04 points, the U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate reached 5.4420 from Wednesday's closing rate of 5.4790.
Meanwhile, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.2260 compared to the rate of 6.2270 registered by the end of Wednesday.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index recorded a 1.48 percent decline by the end of Wednesday session to hit 103,310.21 points, posting USD1.52 billion in the daily trading volume.
