(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) The Navy took into custody 27 sacks of Beedi leaves during a routine patrol carried out in the seas off the Talaimannar lighthouse last night.
The Navy said that two suspects were arrested with the Beedi leaves.
The Navy media unit said that 912.46 kg of Beedi leaves were recovered by the Navy.
It is believed the Beedi leaves were to smuggled from India.
