Qatar, Morocco open new chapter in education sector

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Moroccan Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education & Scientific Research signed the seventh executive programme for co-operation in the field of higher education and scientific research during the academic years 2019-2022.
They also signed a co-operation protocol to attract Moroccan teachers to Qatar.
The executive programme was signed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Dr Ibrahim bin Saleh al-Nuaimi, and Morocco's Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education & Scientific Research Mohamed Abo Saleh.

The programme encourages both sides to exchange students and to oversee PhD theses of Moroccan and Qatari students.
It also encourages the exchange of visits between officials as well as the exchange of expertise in the field of education and scientific research.
The co-operation protocol meanwhile looks to attract Moroccan teachers to Qatar.
It also aims to facilitate exchange of information and expertise in the field of education.
In a related development, the joint Qatari-Moroccan committee for co-operation in the educational field held a meeting yesterday, chaired by both al-Nuaimi and Abo Saleh.
The committee discussed the procedures for the student exchange programme, scholarships and the equation of university degrees.
They also discussed ways to attract teachers and the best practices for enhancing co-operation in the educational field.
Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education & Scientific Research and his accompanying delegation visited Al Hidaya Special Needs Schools, to benefit from its experience in the field.
