Officials from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) discussed ways to develop joint co-operation areas, especially the school Red Crescent programme, which is implemented in various public and private schools in the country.
They also discussed steps taken to develop it as a strategic project of the QRCS and aimed to instill a culture of charitable and voluntary work in new generations, who constitute the foundation of the society and its future.
This came during a meeting between Ministry of Education and Higher Education undersecretary Dr Ibrahim bin Saleh al-Nuaimi, QRCS executive director Ibrahim Abdullah al-Maliki, head of Local Development Mona Fadel al-Sulaiti and a number of ministry officials.
During the meeting, the three main themes of the programme were reviewed, through which the QRCS seeks to educate students and the school community regarding the basic principles and skills of victims of various accidents, as well as a pilot project in terms of goals and vision, by training young people on how to deal with earthquake disasters, applying systematic evacuation skills to reduce loss of life, and the social integration project.
Al-Sulaiti explained that the meeting resulted in the convergence of visions between the two sides on the continuation of co-operation between them and full support for the programme and keenness to adopt all the distinctive initiatives aimed at achieving the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, especially in the human development pillar which invests in youth.
