Trump names U.S. envoy to Mexico pick

(MENAFN) The White House announced on Monday Trump to be planning to present Christopher Landau as a candidate for the post of U.S. ambassador to Mexico.

Landau "is a constitutional and appellate attorney who has briefed and argued appeals before the United States Supreme Court, Federal courts of appeals, and State appellate courts," a White House statement confirmed.

He was also picked for a three-year term "as a member of the Judicial Conference Advisory Committee on Appellate Rules," it added.

Former U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Roberta Jacobson was chosen for the position back in 2016 and stepped down in May 2018.
