Jailed Brotherhood leader deprived of 'rights': Egypt's former VP

(MENAFN) Egypt's former vice president Mohamed ElBaradei condemned all the extreme boundaries imposed against Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohamed el-Beltagy while serving in prison.

In an online statement, the former vice president stressed "I have never met with el-Baltagy in my life and I believe that I differ with him in many things, but I do not understand at all what is happening to him and other prisoners."

The jailed leader, ElBaradei emphasized, was stripped from his "fundamental rights" alongside other Egyptians in jail.

He further added that "this is not Egypt I know, nor Egypt which we want to see."
