(MENAFN) Oman is looking to achieve in eleven years 30 percent of its power demand through commencing renewable energy plans.
This comes while Oman is seeking to accomplish diversity in its energy sources while satisfying electricity needs.
Oman Power and Water Procurement Co (OPWP) forecast 30 percent of energy mix to come from solar energy, wind farms as well as waste energy by 2030.
OPWP affirmed that solar energy alone is expected to generate 21 percent of the electricity demands in the Sultanate while 6.5 percent will come from wind power and 2.5 percent from waste energy.
