Baladna Food Industries, Qatar's largest producer of fresh dairy, recently hosted a blood donation campaign in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC). The event took place at the Baladna Farms in Al Khor and witnessed a donor strength of nearly 800 employees.
The blood donation campaign comes as a part of Baladna's corporate social responsibility activities and goals. The initiative is aimed to provide HMC's blood bank with necessary supplies that can save lives.
Simultaneously, the campaign will help raise awareness on the significance of donating blood and encourage Baladna employees and Qatar's residents to do the same.
The HMC team used a quarantined portable blood donation unit to assist the donors during the event.
'I would like to take this opportunity to thank HMC for allowing us to perform our basic humanitarian duties while showcasing the love we share for our community. Additionally, I am very proud of our staff members who stepped forward and donated their blood which might help save a life. Hosting the blood donation campaign on our premises exemplifies Baladna's constant commitment towards supporting the local community, said Dr Kamel Abdallah, Chief Executive Officer at Baladna.
Baladna will continue to organize diverse welfare practices for its employees, that will also help strengthen their bond with residents and the Qatari community. Baladna is hopeful that this will be the first in a series of CSR events this year and is looking forward to giving back to the community in more ways.
HMC's association with Baladna is based on a common goal of improving health of the people through Baladna's nutritious dairy and food products and HMC's high quality medical treatment and care facilities.
