(MENAFN) European (EU) statistical office Eurostat revealed on Monday the bloc to have registered an increase in January's foreign trade balance deficit to stand at USD28.4 billion.
According to the statistical office, the EU recorded a 2.1 percent boost in its exports for January to hit USD175.1 billion compared to a year ago.
Meanwhile, the office unveiled, the EU posted a 3.9 percent jump in its imports from outside the bloc to reach USD203 billion.
Eurostat added that the intra-EU28 trade generated roughly USD340 billion during the period to mark a 2.3 percent surge.
