(MENAFN) Iran's Shahid Beheshti port in Chabahar took delivery of the first set of cargo with 47,090 livestock heads, with meat set to enter the Iranian market.
The news was revealed by Behrouz Aghaie, Director General of Sistan and Baluchestan Ports and Maritime Organization.
According to the director general, "Shahid Beheshti Port in Chabahar has the capacity to unload cargo from any type of ship and can have important role in development of Sistan and Baluchestan Province."
The official noted "importing basic goods into Chabahar port and distribution of the goods in Sistan and Baluchestan province and other eastern provinces would reduce the price of all commodities."
Aghaie added "utilizing the capacities of Sistan and Baluchestan slaughterhouses would create jobs while people have easy access to red meat."
