MP: Compulsory medical insurance system in Azerbaijan to prevent illegal payments

A system of compulsory medical insurance will be applied in Azerbaijan starting from 2020, Azerbaijani MP Rashad Mahmudov said at a plenary session of the parliament, Trend reports.

He noted that this will contribute to the prevention of illegal payments as well.

The MP said that the country has all the opportunities to provide the necessary medical services, adding that it is also important to increase their accessibility and quality.

Mahmudov noted that some of the important issues are accreditation of hospitals by quality of services, development of standards, accreditation rules for qualified medical personnel, amendments to the law on public health.
