Oman's OPWP grants USD400m power project contract


(MENAFN) Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) awarded a consortium led by Acwa Power a contract for the Ibri II Solar Independent Power Project after it issued a bid for it.

Three offers were delivered to OPWP, with a group with Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC (Masdar) as its head among them alongside another consortium with Marubeni Corporation as its leader.

Acwa Power consortium includes Kuwait's Gulf Investment Corporation and Alternative Energy Projects Co.

The USD400 million project, likely to operate in two years, will see a production capacity of 500MW that allows benefitting 33,000 houses.
