South Africa beat Sri Lanka in ODIs: Here're records broken

South Africa bounced back from a disappointing Test series defeat to come out strong against Sri Lanka in the five-match ODI series.

The Proteas won the fifth and final ODI via D/L method to blank the Lankans 5-0.

This was a big achievement for Faf du Plessis' side ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019.

Imran Tahir, who took a stunning 2/33 in the final ODI, now has 68 scalps in ODIs on home soil.

He ended up with nine wickets in the series and went past former Proteas fast bowler Morne Morkel (61).

Quinton de Kock scored 353 runs in this series.

He now has 1,104 runs against Sri Lanka in ODI cricket at an average of 50.18.


Faf du Plessis surpasses 5,000 runs in ODI cricket

Proteas skipper Faf du Plessis scored an impressive 272 runs in the series.

He now has career 1,070 runs against Sri Lanka in ODI cricket.

Du Plessis also went past 5,000 career ODI runs as well (5,120).

He became the 10th Proteas batsman to get past 5,000 runs in ODIs.

Du Plessis also went past JP Duminy (5,047).


SA inflict second successive 5-0 home series defeat on Lanka

This was South Africa's fourth consecutive bilateral ODI series win against Sri Lanka.

This was also the second consecutive 5-0 ODI series win for South Africa at home against Lanka.

Kagiso Rabada took eight wickets in this series.

He surpassed 100 career ODI wickets (106).

Rabada equalled former Proteas pacer Andre Nel in terms of ODI wickets (106).
