Kuwait basketall, table tennis at losing streak at special olympics


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ABU DHABI, March 16 (KUNA) -- Kuwait women Basketball suffered Saturday two consecutive losses to Ivory Coast, 8-18, and Saudi Arabia, 10-26, their third defeat in the Special Olympics World Games, held in Abu Dhabi, UAE's capital.
Mustafa Hassonah, Kuwait team's manager, told KUNA his players did well despite the two losses.
He said the fact the team played two games in one day caused fatigue among the players.
Meanwhile, Kuwait Table Tennis female individual lost to Iraq by three clean sets and to Mongolia 1-3.
Hadeel Al-Mutairi, Table Tennis manager, said she was happy with the performance despite the defeat.
She told KUNA the Iraqi and Mongolian players have an experience edge over her players. She added their next match would be against Mauritania.
Abu Dhabi Convention Center hosts 11 competitions of the Special Olympics: basketball, handball, volleyball, Bocce, badminton, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, judo, roller skating, powerlifting and table tennis. (end) my.bs
