Kuwait hosted as guest of honor at Meknes TV Festival


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Meknes (Morocco) , March 16 (KUNA) -- Kuwait has been hosted as the guest of honor at Meknes Festival for Television Drama, inauguration of which witnessed presentation of a Kuwaiti drama -- attended by a delegation representing the Ministry of Information.
In his key statement at the opening session, late on Friday, Moroccan Minister of Culture and Communication Mohammad Laaraj noted that the TV drama in the Arab world has noticeably developed.
For his part, the attending Kuwaiti Assistant Undersecretary of Information, Faisal Al-Mutalaqem, called for holding an annual workshop for Arab drama to be a platform to debate issues in this type of art.
Meanwhile Mahmoud Balhasan, head of "Al-Ard Al-Hor (free presentation)" society, the festival organizer, said the management, which selected Kuwait as the guest of honor in this session, is keen on shedding light on Moroccan and Arab drama.
The Kuwaiti delegation included the assistant undersecretary for the TV sector, Saud Al-Khaldi, the Kuwaiti Consul Mohammad Al-Ghanim, and Fawaz Mohammad Mubarak from the department of the minister of information bureau.
The session witnessed a presentation of the Kuwaiti TV film, "Al-Berwaz," narrating story of wife of a psychiatrist who suffers from serious neurological ailment.
The festival, in its eighth edition, has drawn more than 200 dramatists from Egypt, Germany, France, Belgium and the Ivory Coast, in addition to Kuwait and the host country, Morocco. (end) jk.rk
