UN targets great financial aid for Syrians

(MENAFN) The United Nations (UN) is looking to collection a large amount of cash with an aim to help Syrians as they suffer in their war-torn country.

A conference will be launched with the UN and the EU as its co-hosts, targeting the collection of USD3.3 billion for Syrians in the country and USD5.5 billion others for Syrian refugees.

It comes while noting that 11.7 million people are living in Syria with a desperate need of humanitarian assistance.

EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini stated "we don't want the people of Syria to be forgotten at a time when the international community seems to care a little bit less," emphasizing that "it's not over yet."
