Qatar Petroleum, Eni hold interest in Mozambique block


(MENAFN) Qatar Petroleum and Italy's Eni penned a deal on the joint purchase of a 25.5 percent interest in Mozambique's block A5A.

Qatar's oil giant will own 25.5 percent of participating interest in the block in the Angoche basin while Eni is holding 34 percent with Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos 15 percent and Sasol 25.5 percent.

"We are pleased to sign this agreement, with our valuable partner Eni, to participate in exploring this frontier offshore basin and strengthen our presence in Mozambique," stated CEO of QP H E Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Mozambican authorities and our partners in this block for their cooperation and support," Sherida Al-Kaabi added.
