Oman to see sharp gas output boost in 4 years

(MENAFN) Oman is forecast for a significant jump in the output of its gas by 2023, reaching levels way higher than oil production.

Global research and business firm Rystad Energy attributed the boost to a sharp increase in gas fields' establishment within Oman.

Rystad Energy analyst Aditya Saraswat affirmed that "gas is on the rise in Oman, and this transition is very timely."

Saraswat added "oil output declines over the last two years may indicate a point of no return for Omani oil, but the country's sliding oil production is set to be replaced by gas."
