Qatar- QC's FCC organises cultural and literary events for Asian communities

Doha: The Friends Cultural Center (FCC), a community development centre of Qatar Charity (QC), has organised various activities, which included competitions on public speaking and literary meetings.

Many FCC members belonging to Asian communities took part in these activities.

The FCC held speech competition for women participating in the Toastmasters course, which aims to help women boost confidence, develop effective oral communication skills, enhance public speaking capabilities, and improve professional abilities.

Also, the Friends Cultural Center held a literary meeting for lovers of literature and books, who participated in a discussion on some famous books. An introduction was given on six renowned Malayalam books, including S Hareesh's Meesha and Veerankuttiyude Kavithakal's Mindaa Prani, which is a poetry collection.

The literary meeting witnessed serious discussion and meaningful conversation, as participants shared their views and observations on the books reviewed at the meeting.

Habeeburahiman Kizhissery, Director of FCC, said, 'Such events have a good impact on the beneficiaries, as they develop their cultural knowledge and raise their awareness, facilitating communication and interaction with other Asian nationals, pointing out that these activities contributed to sharpen their skills and highlight their talents.

He also noted that Qatar Charity, through the FCC, aims to achieve cultural interaction and exchange ideas that contribute to the development of human values and the promotion of culture and civilization among the Asian communities, as Qatar Charity believes that the well-being of humankind can only be achieved by cooperation and interaction between different religions, opinions and ideas.

It is worth mentioning that the centre conducts weekly courses in knitting and crocheting as well as handicrafts training for women. It also has classes for the Holy Quran and Arabic languages in addition to karate.
