20 Omani photographers promote tourism


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Twenty Omani photographers have come together from Bidiyah to promote the country's tourism through social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Speaking toMuscat Daily , Mohammed Hamdan al Hajri, the head of Bidiyah Team, said, 'Our team comprising 20 photographers from the wilayat came into existence in 2012.'

Speaking of the photographs, he said, 'We have clicked hundreds of photographs of tourist sites such as Bidiyah sands, other deserts, camel race competitions and faces of people. As a team, we promote Oman internationally through these photographs on social media platforms.

'We even organise workshops for photographers from time to time to exchange expertise.'

Hajri said that the team has participated in local and international competitions to raise the profile of sultanate in the world. 'I hope our effort goes a long way in attracting more tourists from abroad. I am currently working on a book on Oman's deserts and I hope to finish it soon.'
