Amman, March 5 (Petra) -- Minister of Education and Higher Education, Waleed Maani, on Tuesday discussed with Ukrainian Ambassador to Amman Sergei Pasco means to overcome obstacles facing the Jordanian students studying in Ukraine.
During the meeting, Maani called for expanding cooperation in scientific research field as well as increasing the number of scholarships between universities in both countries, stressing his ministry's keenness to promote higher education which contributes in supporting sustainable development.
The minister also urged the Jordanian universities to boost cooperation and coordination and benefit from educational and scientific research of the international and Ukrainian universities to contribute in making a qualitative leap in the education system.
The Ukrainian ambassador highlighted his country's keenness to enhance future bilateral relations, which provides appropriate environment for Jordanian students studying in Ukrainian universities.
The ambassador invited minister Maani to visit his country to get a first-hand look at the Ukrainian universities' educational level.
Around 1,971 Jordanian students are currently studying at the Ukrainian higher institutes, while the number of the Ukrainian students who are studying in the Kingdom stood at 11, according the ministry's latest figures.
