Jordan- Cold weather expected over next three days

Amman, March 3 (Petra) -- A slight rise in mercury levels is expected on Sunday, but cold weather conditions will remain in many parts of the Kingdom, while it will be fair in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, the Jordan Meteorological Department(JMD) said in its daily brief.

Winds will be southwesterly moderate to brisk at times with fog formation at night, mainly over highlands, according to the JMD.

Similar weather conditions will continue to prevail on Monday with a slight chance for showers in the northern areas, while winds will be westerly moderate to brisk, the department added.

On Tuesday, the Kingdom will be affected by unstable weather conditions .Therefore, the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy with rainfall across the country that may turn heavy accompanied by thunder and hail at times and cause floods in valleys, and low lying areas. Winds will be easterly to northwesterly moderate picking up at times and blowing dust in the Badia region, the JMD noted.

Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman will reach13 degrees Celsius, 15 in the northern cities and 10 in the southern cities dropping down to 6, 8 and 4 respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 25 and lows dropping to 15 at night, the JMD added further.
