Lebanon mulls over LNG import from Egypt

(MENAFN) Lebanese Energy Minister Nada Boustani announced the country to be mulling over a plan to purchase Egyptian liquefied natural gas (LNG).

This comes following talks between the Lebanese energy minister and Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon Nazih Najjari, a meeting where they explored an agreement potential.

It also follows a meeting between Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry where they decided to strengthen cooperation between their countries.

Shoukry stated "the current cooperation between the two countries represents key support for the economies of the two countries and there are possibilities to develop this cooperation in vital sectors, such as energy and other fields."
