Amman, Feb. 26 (Petra) ـــــ Jordan Tuesday received $5 million worth of in-kind medical donations and vaccinations from India.

"The Memorandum of Understanding sealed between both countries' health ministries constitutes the institutional framework for closer and sustained health cooperation", Health Minister Ghazi Zaben said as he received the donation with Indian Ambassador to Jordan Shubhdarshini Tripathi.

He voiced appreciation of the Indian government and people for the gesture.

India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the assistance during His Majesty King Abdullah's visit to New Delhi in March, Tripathi noted.

Spokesman for the Health Ministry Hatem Azrou'y said the health memo stipulates the encouragement of cooperation in the health, medical science, pharmaceutical research, medical equipment and health coverage domains.
