(MENAFN) India is urging for measures in retaliation for a suicide attack which recently struck Indian-administered Kashmir.
The International Cricket Council received an appeal from the Indian Board of Control for Cricket to "sever ties with countries from which terrorism emanates."
A terrorist group based in Pakistan claimed responsibility over the brutal attack which caused the death of forty Indian paramilitary police.
A statement said "in view of the... terrorist attack, the BCCI fears for the safety and security of players and match officials participating in upcoming ICC events, including the World Cup."
It added: "most countries from which the members of the ICC hail have strongly condemned this terrorist attack and expressed solidarity with India."
