Iranian pipelines provide drinkable water to thousands villages


(MENAFN) Iranian pipelines are providing sustainable drinking water to more than 19,600 villages, announced Amirhossein Raghimi, Director General of the Bureau for Planning at Iran's Water and Wastewater Engineering Company.

Speaking to IRIB, the official unveiled that "with the construction of 1,020 water supply facilities in the rural areas across the country, there are now over 19,600 villages having sustainable drinking water."

Raghimi affirmed: "of course due to severe drought in some areas, a number of villages still require mobile water supply."

He further added that mobile water facilities have already been established within 74 percent of Iranian rural regions.
