Qatar- District Cooling Services dept conducts field tour

Doha: The Department of District Cooling Services at Qatar Electricity and Water Authority (Kahramaa) conducted a field tour to the Qatar Cool Power Plant in the West Bay and Al Dafna area, as part of its mission to monitor and regulate the district cooling services in the country.

The Director of the Department and the engineers in charge of followed up and operation of the plants, which have a cooling capacity of 97,500 tonnes of cooling, and follow up to the successful use of treated wastewater directly or through the system of purification of treated water.

The use of district cooling system is smart and sustainable solutions because of its environmental and economic benefits for the country and society, as reduce consumption of electricity by 30 - 40 percent.

So it is more efficient compared to traditional cooling as well it provides with potable water by switching to the use of treated water or any alternative sources available and reduce carbon dioxide emissions as decrease natural gas consumption.
