(MENAFN) Authorities declared that over five Taliban militants have died as two narcotic-drug labs and a bomb- producing plant were devastated after a military raid in Afghanistan's western province of Herat overnight.
Afghan army Corps 207 Zafar confirmed: "Afghan National Army's Special Operations Forces conducted an operation in Zir Koh district, Herat province last night. Upon arrival of security forces, a gunfight erupted resulting in five militants killed and four others wounded."
It added that the wounded included a Taliban commander called Amroddin Khan.
Security force members, who were backed by the NATO-led coalition forces, also dissolved three militants' vehicles before coming back to a military camp.
