(MENAFN- NewsIn.Asia) "> Jaipur, February 20 (Times Now/Express Tribune):A Pakistani national in the Jaipur Central Jail since 2011 in a terrorism case, was stoned to death by other inmates on Wednesday, police said.
The Pakistani citizen, identified as Shakar Ullah, was reportedly attacked in a brawl related to the killing of 44 Indian Security Personnel at Pulwama in Kashmir by a Pakistan-inspired suicide bomber on February 14.
Times Now channel reported that a team of doctors reached the Central Jail to treat the Pakistani national, but he had succumbed to the injuries.
Shakir Ullah, hailing from Sialkot, was serving life imprisonment after his conviction in a terror-related case. He was arrested in the Indian state of Gujarat in 2001.
The gruesome killing came as Indian media continues to whip up war hysteria since the killing of nearly three dozen Indian soldiers in a suicide attack in Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK) earlier this month, Pakistan's Express Tribune said.
Indian politicians are also giving out belligerent statements and enraging the public against Pakistan, which they allege for being behind the suicide attack.
As a result, Kashmiri students in different cities of India have complained of mob attacks and discrimination. On February 19, authorities in Rajasthan gave visiting Pakistani nationals a 48-hour ultimatum to leave India.
According to a list compiled this year, over 350 Pakistanis are held in different jails of India.
Pakistan Takes Up Issue with India
In a statement, the Foreign Office said the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has officially raised the issue of the lynching of the Pakistani prisoner with the Indian authorities, requesting them to urgently authenticate the report and take action.
'We call upon the Indian government to fulfill its obligations and ensure provision of foolproof security to all Pakistani inmates/prisoners in Indian jails and Pakistani visitors to India,' reads the statement.
India has appraised the international community over the involvement of Pakistan in supporting terror infrastructure operating from its soil. But Pakistan has repeatedly denied its role in terror incidents in India.
Addressing the nation via Radio Pakistan, country's recently elected Prime Minister Imran Khan said that conducting a Pulwama-like attack was ‘not in Pakistan's interest'.
While demanding an ‘actionable intelligence' from India, Khan threatened that military action by India would be met with retaliation from Pakistan. India, in response, cited how Pakistan has not acted upon ‘actionable intelligence' supplied during the 26/11 Mumbai-attack probe.
