Kuwait senior officer touts IDEX, NAVDEX


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ABU DHABI, Feb 19 (KUNA) -- A Kuwaiti senior security official said Tuesday the International Defense Exhibition and Conference (IDEX-2019) and the Naval Defense and Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX-2019) provide a chance for global companies to present their latest innovations in the defense industry.
The IDEX is an ideal platform for showcasing the world's state-of-the-art products in the areas of public security and border security, said Assistant Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior for Border Security Affairs Maj.-Gen. Sheikh Salem Nawaf Al-Sabah.
Sheikh Salem made the comments in a statement to KUNA following a tour of the Exhibition alongside a delegation accompanying him.
He noted that Kuwait's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khaled Jarrah Al-Sabah is keen on the participation of senior security officials in the global defense trade shows in order to get updated on and acquire the latest security products, and enhance the preparedness of the police personnel.
Sheikh Salem thanked Abu-Dhabi for hosting the IDEX-2019 which sheds light on the products and innovations in the fourth industrial revolution, including the artificial intelligence and simulation technologies and security data analysis systems.
The biennial IDEX-2019 and NAVDEX-2019, being held between February 17 and 21, gathered representatives of 1,310 defense industry companies from 62 countries which showcase their products at 38 pavilions with a total area of 168,000 sq. m. (end) bsu.gb
