Iraq will retaliate against any IS fighters crossing the boarders


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BAGHDAD, Feb 18 (KUNA) -- the Iraqi forces would strongly retaliate if any of so-called Islamic State (IS) fighters tried to enter Iraq, spokesperson of the Security Media Center Brigadier Yahya Rasool said on Monday.
Rasool added in a statement, Iraqi army's main objective is to protect Iraq's sovereignty, and defend its boarders from any threat, mainly from the Syrian boarders to block any IS fighter from crossing into Iraq.
He added that only the high command of the Iraqi army that could order cross-border attack into the Syrian territories.
According to media reports, IS fighters have entered Iraq with a large amount of cash after they were cornered by forces in Syria.
Earlier, Iraq's Prime Minister Adel Abdulmahdi announced that there was a plan to enter Syria but was canceled at request of the coalition forces. (end) ohh.mys
