(MENAFN) The army declared that over 14 militants have died as 17 more were wounded as gunfights erupted in Arghandab district of Afghanistan's southern Zabul province.
The gunfight broke out on Sunday after government forces initiated evacuation raids against Taliban militants and the militants retaliated, sparking intense clashes, as the underway raids would keep going till the militants are all evacuated from the area.
The army confirmed that no civilians nor military personnel have been wounded in the clashes.
Taliban militants active in areas of the troubled Zabul province haven't made any statements yet.
