Turkey confiscates huge amount of heroin at border with Iran


(MENAFN) At least 25 kilograms (55 pounds) of heroin was confiscated at the Turkish-Iranian border by Turkish customs, according to an official statement.

A truck coming from Iran to Turkey suspected of drug trafficking was checked at the Gurbulak Customs Gate, the Turkish Trade Ministry affirmed on Sunday.

During the search operation, the heroin, concealed under the bed in the driver's cab, was confiscated.

The statement added that the probe launched to investigate the incident is still underway.
