Jordan, U.S. mull over investment in Aqaba


(MENAFN) Jordan explored with the United States the expansion of investments in Aqaba ports, underlining the necessity of improving the port system in the southern Jordanian city.

Discussions were held in Aqaba between Emad Hijazin, Vice Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), and U.S. Charge d'Affaires in Jim Barnhart.

A memorandum of understanding with the Saudi Jordanian Investment Fund was significant for Ma'an land port establishment, management and operation, the Jordanian official affirmed.

During the meeting, Hejazin also addressed and examined the approach ASEZA set for 2018-25, aiming for the execution of several digital indicators.
