(MENAFN) India imported 270,500 barrels of oil per day from Iran last month, marking a sharp 45 percent decline on an annual basis.
This figure was lower than a forecast to import 300,000 bpd of Iranian oil in January, due to a holdup seen in cargo deliveries.
Indian imports of Iranian oil recorded a 10.4 percent drop last month compared to the previous month.
According to Times of India, Iran snatched the 7th rank in oil suppliers to India last month, demoting it from the 6th rank in December.
