(MENAFN- Kashmir Observer) SRINAGAR — One of the several people arrested in connection with Thursday's deadly suicide bombing attack on paramilitary CRPF in south Kashmir's Pulwama district is said to have rescued army soldiers during the devastating 2014 floods in Kashmir.
Reports said that after the attack claimed by Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad militant outfit left nearly 50 CRPF personnel dead in Lethpora, government forces conducted nocturnal raids and arrested over eight youth in Lelhar, Hatiwara Letapora, Ratnipora and Lelhar areas of Pulwama.
'Interestingly, one of the arrested youth Asif Muzafar Shah of Samboora had played a key role in rescuing a column of army men in 2014 devastating floods. The services of Shah were hailed by army then when he rescued 21 soldiers during devastating floods,' a local news agency reported.
Quoting sources, the agency reported that government forces also picked up a man and his son from Hatiwara Letpora village, where atop Jaish-e-Muhammad militant Mufti Waqas was killed in a house year.
The forces have also reportedly made arrests in Tral and other areas after the Lethpora attack.
