Kenya: 9 die in road crash


(MENAFN) Police declared that nine people have died as six more were wounded on Friday in a grisly road crash at a major highway in northwest Kenya.

Justus Kitetu, Kericho divisional police commander confirmed that the nine have been killed after a minibus locally called matatu they were abroad crashed head-on with a fuel tanker at around 6:45 p.m. on the Kericho-Nakuru highway.

Kitetu added: "The accident involved a 14-seater matatu and a truck which was ferrying gas from Kisumu to Nairobi."

The truck drove on the opposite site of the road when it crashed with the matatu, according to the police commander. €ƒ
