Irrfan Khan not doing 'Hindi Medium 2'. Here's why

Irrfan Khan, who was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine tumor last year, grabbed headlines after he returned to India early this week.
Further, there were reports that he will begin shooting for Hindi Medium 2 soon.
But looks like we'll have to wait a little longer for his on screen return.
Reportedly, Irrfan is not a part of Hindi Medium 2 owing to health issues.
Irrfan out of limelight after being diagnosed with rare cancer

Irrfan has been missing from the limelight for a year now after he was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine tumor, a rare form of cancer.
While the actor was getting himself treated in London, there were reports that he will be making his comeback with Hindi Medium 2.
In fact, media reports suggested that Irrfan would commence shooting for the movie next week itself.
But, Irrfan won't return to acting anytime soon

Furthermore, reports suggested that Irrfan was being treated at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.
Evidently, the healing process from the deadly disease is quite exhausting for him.
As a matter of fact, Irrfan's close friend cleared the air about his comeback and said that it isn't feasible for him to work for another year.
'Irrfan won't be allowed to work for minimum a year'

"Irrfan won't be returning to acting for a while now. Even after full recovery, he won't be allowed to get back to work for at least a year. So there is no question of doing Hindi Medium 2," his friend told Bollywood Hungama.
Separately, director Saket Chaudhary distances himself from the project

Meanwhile, director Saket Chaudhary, who helmed the first installment of the franchise, also distanced himself from Hindi Medium 2.
Reportedly, the director feels that "he's done telling the story he wanted to".
While producer Dinesh Vijan is keen for the sequel to his 2017 release Hindi Medium, but he will have to hunt for a new director and lead actor for the movie.
