PA denies Israeli railway network bid

(MENAFN) Palestinian Authority (PA) denied a proposal Israel made for contributing in a project to establish a regional railway network which connects the West Bank with Israel and more Arab countries.

Israel's bid consists of setting up a railway line linking Jenin with Haifa then with a number of Arab capitals, noted PA civil affairs minister Hussein al-Sheikh.

According to the minister, "We totally rejected the Israeli offer and we said we are against normalization with Israel before the end of the Israeli military occupation of the West Bank."

Al-Sheikh announced that "we also said no for economic solutions that empower the occupation."

He further added that "a piece of bread can never be an alternative to the freedom of homelands."
