LOS ANGELES - Feb. 15, 2019 - PRLog -- The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Rose City FC as a new league member kicking off with the 2019 Spring Season.

Based in Pasadena (Calif.), Rose City FC will begin UPSL play in the Western Conference SoCal North Division, and will host its UPSL home games at Arcadia High School () in compliance with UPSL's Minimum Standards.

United Premier Soccer League Western Conference Manager Gary Brunner said, "We're excited to welcome Rose City FC to the UPSL's SoCal Division. Pasadena is such a beautiful city with an outstanding soccer history and great facilities, and General Manager Walker Haynes is a well-respected member of that community. He'll have a good staff and team in place and ready to compete. We wish Rose City FC luck as it gets ready for its first UPSL season."

Walker Haynes is General Manager for Rose City FC. A native of Atlanta (Ga.), Haynes, 44, moved to Southern California more than 20 years ago to pursue playing and coaching opportunities. He currently is the Head Coach of the Men's Soccer team at Pasadena (Calif.)'s Providence Christian College (NAIA) while serving as an assistant boys soccer coach at Pasadena (Calif.)'s Maranatha High School.

Rose City FC General Manager Walker Haynes said, "The goal is to have a men's Pro Development team here in Pasadena because there isn't one, and I want it to be a grass roots, home-grown club. There's a lot of local talent here but there hasn't been a team like this for them. The UPSL is providing a tremendous opportunity for players at this level, supporting teams and players just getting started, and we really like the Promotion/Relegation aspect and that clubs are being allowed the chance to grow and blossom."

Ted Armstrong is Head Coach Rose City FC. A Southern California native, Armstrong played collegiately at CS San Bernardino (NCAA) and has coached at Pasadena (Calif.)'s CalTech University, Los Angeles' Occidental College and Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.)'s Chaffey College. He is a former Olympic Development Coach (ODP); is a CYSA coaching instructor, and holds a USSF 'B' Coaching License.

The club has formed an affiliation partnership with Pasadena (Calif.) based youth club CZ Elite and Janet Eaton, the Foundation Director for a local non-profit that operates the club.

"We're trying to partner with the local youth clubs so that they begin to see an active pathway to a higher level," Haynes said. "Janet has a deep knowledge and background in local soccer, and she's been a great help in the organizational aspect."

Scott Clauson will serve as Marketing Director for Rose City FC.

The club will announce tryout dates and its upcoming UPSL game schedule.
