Doha: A large number of citizens, residents as well as officials and employees of Ooredoo with their families took part in an array of sporting activities organised by Ooredoo at Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Park yesterday.
To promote the importance of a healthy lifestyle, Ooredoo had organised different sports activities for people of all ages at MIA Park.
The Park was divided into different Zones. Kids Area included a host of age-appropriate adventures such as games, races and inflatables while in another Zone, there were games including billiards, table tennis and table football, as well as a professional bike tutorial, Zumba and aerobics.
Captain of Qatar National Football Team, Hassan Al Haydos with a number of other players of the team also participated in the sporting activities and also played a football match there with participants of National Sport Day. The fans of Asian Cup Champions kept on taking selfies with the star players.
Dressed in sports costumes people started arriving the MIA Park before 8am which showed their level of interest and passion in marking the day.
'I reached here at 7:30am to participate in sporting activities and in my opinion it is a great initiative by Qatar's leadership to mark sports day. It offers us an opportunity to make a new resolve for adopting healthy lifestyle, said Mohsin, an expatriate. Along well-planned arrangements for playing handball, volleyball and basketball; people also indulged in fun games like tug of war, Ping Pong Waiter and a three-legged race.
National Sport Day celebrations were marked not only in MIA Park, but also hundreds of people were jogging along the Corniche.
