Qatar- Kahramaa holds several sport events at Katara

Doha: H E Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, President of Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa), Eng Essa bin Hilal Al Kuwari, and other Kahramaa officials played volleyball for half-an-hour at Katara beach to mark National Sport Day (NSD) yesterday.

Kahramaa organised a number of sport activities including volleyball, football, table tennis, cycling and among many more in cooperation with the Qatar Volleyball Federation and the Qatari Table Tennis Committee at a grand tent at Katara beach.

'National Sport Day is supported by the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, H E Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada told The Peninsula

He said that this is very special day which became a tradition where all segments of the society waiting to indulge in different types of sports.

'The sport day also energizes people which creates further awareness about the importance of the sport and health. Health and sport are synonymous together which creates an excellent social dimension giving opportunity to families to visit the venues of sport activities to enjoy, said Al Sada.

He said that NSD helped citizens and expatriates to attract to sports naturally which is a great achievement. 'Now we have great passion towards sport, he added.

'Kahramaa is trying to engage people including men, women and children in sport activities on NSD. We are trying to make it a family day with sport day, said President of Kahramaa, Eng Essa bin Hilal Al Kuwari. He said that through NSD, people get chance to re-energize themselves and to make sports their habit for rest of the days round of the year.

Kahramaa organised many sport activities including volleyball, football, table tennis among many more at its tent in Katara in a bid to provide a sport environment to its employees out of the workplace, said Al Kuwari.

He said that Kahramaa has a gymnasium at its headquarters where employees do physical exercises round the year.

Mohammed Ali Al Mohannadi, Director of Public Relations and Communication, said that Kahramaa participated in 8th NSD. 'We have many sport activities including table tennis, volleyball, football, cycling. It was a open sport healthy day, said Al Muhannadi.
