Kuwait- KUNA chief discusses media ties with South African, Tunisian ambs.


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Feb 12 (KUNA) -- Board Chairman and Director General of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Sabah received Tuesday Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to Kuwait Mzolisa Bona and Tunisian Ambassador to Kuwait Ahmad Bin Saghir.
During his meeting with ambassador Bona, Sheikh Mubarak, also Chairman of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA), stressed KUNA's keenness to support cooperation with African news agencies, especially South Africa, as he pointed to the importance of strengthening media relations between the two countries.
KUNA is keen to cooperate with various diplomatic missions in Kuwait and provide the information needed to help strengthening Kuwait's relations with various friendly countries, Sheikh Muabark added.
During the meeting with Ambassador Bin Saghir, means of enhancing cooperation between KUNA and the Tunisian media institutions, especially Agence Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP), were discussed.
KUNA seeks to exchange experiences, ideas, images and news with various media institutes in order to develop Arab media and overcome the obstacles facing them, Sheikh Mubarak said.
He pointed out that there is a project to sign a cooperation agreement between KUNA and TAP covering various media fields.
The meetings were attended by KUNA's Deputy Director General for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Communications Abdulhamid Malak, Sheikh Mubarak's Office Director Nayef Al-Otaibi and Director of Marketing and Public Relations Issam Al-Ruwayeh. (end) fa.ysa.ss
