Israeli forces detain 16 Palestinians in overnight raids

(MENAFN) Israeli soldiers arrested 16 Palestinians in overnight attacks conducted across the occupied West Bank, according to the Israeli military on Tuesday.

The persons were detained for "suspected involvement in popular terrorist activities", the army stated in a statement, without explaining the nature of these activities.

The Israeli army regularly conducts wide-ranging detention campaigns across the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem on the excuse of searching for "wanted" Palestinians.

According to Palestinian statistics, over 6,000 Palestinians continue to suffer in Israeli prisons, including parliament members, women and minors.
