Israeli opposition holds election for general polls nominees


(MENAFN) Israel's main opposition was announced to have commenced on Monday a key election aimed at picking nominees for April's general elections.

Opposition Labor Party carried out opinion surveys that indicate the party's conviction of winning the majority of seats in the Israeli general polls set for April 9th.

Around 58,000 party members were found to be eligible for voting on Monday, with the outcome likely to be announced on Tuesday.

Yediot Ahronot reported that "the Labor Party, which founded the State of Israel and governed it for decades, faces one of the greatest crises in its history."
